The Gathering team are delighted to announce that the acclaimed theatre company, The Wintershall Players, will be coming to perform at The Gathering on Saturday 16th May.
They come fresh from their Good Friday re-enactment of The Passion of Christ in Trafalgar Square which has won them much praise – see pictures from their Good Friday performance here.
The theatre company was founded by Peter and Ann Hutley, who have lived at the Wintershall Estate in Surrey for 50 years. Peter writes and produces the plays, and from the small beginnings of a Christmas Nativity in the late 1980s, the numbers of cast and crew, productions, and audiences have increased, with Wintershall’s open-air street performances often attracting thousands.
To fit in with the theme of the day, ‘food for the journey…’, the Wintershall Players will perform The Lord’s Supper, with actor James Burke-Dunsmore, reprising his role of Jesus for the performance.
